Abstract
Description
Why do YOU do science? Four students and post-doctoral fellows tell us what they find inspiring and fun about doing science.
Velez-Perez, McLean, Quiñones-Laracuente and Roberts were all participants in the Summer Program in Neuroscience, Ethics and Survival (SPINES) at the Marine Biological Laboratory. The program provides an intensive course in neuroscience as well as teaching survival skills such as grant writing and public speaking. The program encourages participation by groups underrepresented in neuroscience.
A version of this talk was first released in iBioMagazine issue 6.
Funded and sponsored by the American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB) Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) National Science Foundation (NSF) University of California San Francisco (UCSF)
