MBL Agreement of Association. Paper documenting the establishment of the Marine Biological Laboratory. The agreement reads, "The name by which the Corporation shall be known is The Marine Biological Laboratory. The purpose for which the Corporation is constituted is to establish and maintain a laboratory or station for scientific study and investigation, and a school for instruction in biology and natural history." The document is signed by Alpheus Hyatt and nine others, including Charles Sedwick Minot.
