Page 1 reads, "The Marine Biological Laboratory [handwritten]; Notice of First Meeting" Page 2 reads, "You are hereby notified that the first meeting of the subscribers to an agreement ot associate themselves with the intention to constitute a Corporation to be known by the name of The Marine Biological Laboratory [handwritten] dated February 27th 1888, for the purpose of organizing said Corporation by the adoption of by-laws and election of officers [left blank] and the transaction of such other business as may properly come before the meeting, will be held on Tuesday the 13th day of March, 1888, at 4:30 o'clock P.M. at the library of the Boston Society of Natural History, Berkeley Stret, Boston." Signed Samuel Mills, February 27th 1888. The notice continues, "March 3rd 1888. I certify that I have served the foregoing notice upon each of the subscribers by copy served as follows: delivered in hand, seven days at least before the day fixed for the first meeting." Signed Samuel Mills. The notice ends, "March 3rd 1888. Subscribed and sworn to, Before me, Francis L Hayes, Justice of the peace."
