Respirometry experiments were conducted on juvenile nurse, lemon, and blacktip sharks captured in Florida and transported to Mote Marine Laboratory. Collected data captures shark weight, shark length, shark sex, tank temperature, oxygen consumption, and overall dynamic body acceleration (see parameters for all captured data points).
For a complete list of measurements, refer to the full dataset description in the supplemental file 'Dataset_description.pdf'. The most current version of this dataset is available at: https://www.bco-dmo.org/dataset/670858

Integrating archival tag data and a high-resolution oceanographic model to estimate basking shark (Cetorhinus maximus) movements in the western Atlantic
Braun, Camrin D.; Skomal, Gregory B.; Thorrold, Simon R. (Frontiers Media, 2018-02)Basking shark (Cetorhinus maximus) populations are considered “vulnerable” globally and “endangered” in the northeast Atlantic by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Much of our knowledge of this ...
