Remotely-generated submesoscale coherent vortices (SCV) within Argo profiles. The data reveal the date, locations, and identification information of Argo profiles that pierced spicy-core (anomalously warm and salty) and minty-core (anomalously cold and fresh) SCVs. We also include statistics gathered for each SCV, such as core water mass characteristics and height/length scales. These data are described in McCoy et al. (2020); doi: 10.1016/j.pocean.2020.102452 For a complete list of measurements, refer to the full dataset description in the supplemental file 'Dataset_description.pdf'. Origin of the deep Bering Sea nitrate deficit : constraints from the nitrogen and oxygen isotopic composition of water column nitrate and benthic nitrate fluxes Lehmann, Moritz F.; Sigman, Daniel M.; McCorkle, Daniel C.; Brunelle, Brigitte G.; Hoffmann, Sharon S.; Kienast, Markus; Cane, Greg; Clement, Jaclyn (American Geophysical Union, 2005-10-12)On the basis of the normalization to phosphate, a significant amount of nitrate is missing from the deep Bering Sea (BS). Benthic denitrification has been suggested previously to be the dominant cause for the BS nitrate ...

Shamberger, Kathryn E. F.; Cohen, Anne L.; Golbuu, Yimnang; McCorkle, Daniel C.; Lentz, Steven J.; Barkley, Hannah C. (John Wiley & Sons, 2014-01-16)Anthropogenic carbon dioxide emissions are acidifying the oceans, reducing the concentration of carbonate ions ([CO32−]) that calcifying organisms need to build and cement coral reefs. To date, studies of a handful of ...
