dc.description.abstractSponge abundances on the shallow coral reefs of St. John, US Virgin Islands from 1992-2017. Data were extracted from legacy photoquadrats that are part of an ongoing time series, and sponge abundances were measured on two scales (1) number per quadrat (“Abundance”), and (2) estimated volume as cm3/0.25 cm2. Data are summed across taxa, and support Figure 3 in the paper published in Marine Biology (Edumunds et al., 2020). For a complete list of measurements, refer to the full dataset description in the supplemental file 'Dataset_description.pdf'.
