Counts of Mysidacea species collected during the International Indian Ocean Expeditions (IIOE) in the Indian Ocean. Mysidacea were collected by several ships that took part in the IIOE from 1962 to 1965. Though collections were taken from all over the Indian Ocean, the bulk of the material comes from the seas around the Indian Peninsula. For a complete list of measurements, refer to the full dataset description in the supplemental file 'Dataset_description.pdf'. Multidecadal Indian Ocean variability linked to the Pacific and implications for preconditioning Indian Ocean dipole events Ummenhofer, Caroline C.; Biastoch, Arne; Böning, Claus W. (American Meteorological Society, 2017-02-15)The Indian Ocean has sustained robust surface warming in recent decades, but the role of multidecadal variability remains unclear. Using ocean model hindcasts, characteristics of low-frequency Indian Ocean temperature ...
Liu, Lingling; Huang, Rui Xin; Wang, Fan (John Wiley & Sons, 2018-07-02)Based on the characteristics of oceanic circulation in a monsoon‐dominated ocean, a new framework of annual ventilation, including subduction and obduction, is postulated and applied to the North Indian Ocean based on both ...
Reconstructing the thermal structure of the upper ocean : insights from planktic foraminifera shell chemistry and alkenones in modern sediments of the tropical eastern Indian Ocean Mohtadi, Mahyar; Oppo, Delia W.; Luckge, Andreas; De Pol-Holz, Ricardo; Steinke, Stephan; Groeneveld, Jeroen; Hemme, Nils; Hebbeln, Dierk (American Geophysical Union, 2011-09-10)Shell chemistry of planktic foraminifera and the alkenone unsaturation index in 69 surface sediment samples in the tropical eastern Indian Ocean off West and South Indonesia were studied. Results were compared to modern ...
