The supplementary data represents a compilation of all published data between 1990-2012 for in situ primary productivity and POC flux at 100m for the Southern Ocean. The sea surface temperature (SST) data provided in the table are computed for individual station from AVHRR Pathfinder Version 5.0 eight-day 4 km data sets (see text for details).
