Introduction The data sets presented here includes a table containing summary statistics for trace gas and meteorological measurements and a set of figures containing 2-hour diel bin plots for trace gases. The data were collected from eight sites across the central and easter United States and one site in eastern Puerto Rico between 2003-2009. Data in the table correspond to the period of mercury (Hg) speciation measurement for all 9 of the sites, where available. The diel bin plots are presented for three of the coastal sites (C-AL, C-SC, and C-MA) for the period of Hg speciation measurement; each trace gas is plotted as a separate file. 1. 2010jd014064-ts01.txt Trace gas and meteorological site and seasonal data summary for the nine sites investigated as part of this study. 1.1 Column "Site" indicates which site the data refer to. 1.2 Column "Lat", degrees, latitude of the corresponding site, north of equator. 1.3 Column "Long", degrees, longitude of the corresponding site. 1.4 Column "Elevation", meters, elevation of the site above mean sea level. 1.5 Column "Season", indicates the season of data for which summary statistics have been calculated. 1.6 Column "NOx_mean", ppbv, arithmetic mean of NO + NO2 concentration measurements for that site and season. 1.7 Column "NOx_std.dev.", ppbv, standard deviation of NO + NO2 concentration measurements for that site and season. 1.8 Column "NOx_min", ppbv, minimum value of NO + NO2 concentration measurements for that site and season. 1.9 Column "NOx_max", ppbv, maximum value of NO + NO2 concentration measurements for that site and season. 1.10 Column "SO2_mean", ppbv, arithmetic mean of SO2 concentration measurements for that site and season. 1.11 Column "SO2_std.dev.", ppbv, standard deviation of SO2 concentration measurements for that site and season. 1.12 Column "SO2_min", ppbv, minimum value of SO2 concentration measurements for that site and season. 1.13 Column "SO2_max", ppbv, maximum value of SO2 concentration measurements for that site and season. 1.14 Column "O3_mean", ppbv, arithmetic mean of O3 concentration measurements for that site and season. 1.15 Column "O3_std.dev.", ppbv, standard deviation of O3 concentration measurements for that site and season. 1.16 Column "O3_min", ppbv, minimum value of O3 concentration measurements for that site and season. 1.17 Column "O3_max", ppbv, maximum value of O3 concentration measurements for that site and season. 1.18 Column "Air_Temp_mean", degrees Celsius, arithmetic mean of surface air temperature measurements for that site and season. 1.19 Column "Air_Temp_std.dev.", degrees Celsius, standard deviation of surface air temperature measurements for that site and season. 1.20 Column "Air_Temp_min", degrees Celsius, minimum value of surface air temperature measurements for that site and season. 1.21 Column "Air_Temp_max", degrees Celsius, maximum value of surface air temperature measurements for that site and season. 1.22 Column "RH_mean", percent, arithmetic mean of relative humidity measurements for that site and season. 1.23 Column "RH_std.dev.", percent, standard deviation of relative humidity measurements for that site and season. 1.24 Column "RH_min", percent, minimum value of relative humidity measurements for that site and season. 1.25 Column "RH_max", percent, maximum value of relative humidity measurements for that site and season. 1.26 Column "Solar_Rad_mean", watts per square meter, arithmetic mean of solar radiation measurements for that site and season. 1.27 Column "Solar_Rad_std.dev.", watts per square meter, standard deviation of solar radiation measurements for that site and season. 1.28 Column "Solar_Rad_min", watts per square meter, minimum value of solar radiation measurements for that site and season. 1.29 Column "Solar_Rad_max", watts per square meter, maximum value of solar radiation measurements for that site and season. 1.30 Column "Wind_Spd_mean", meters per second, arithmetic mean of wind speed measurements for that site and season. 1.31 Column "Wind_Spd_std.dev.", meters per second, standard deviation of wind speed measurements for that site and season. 1.32 Column "Wind_Spd_min", meters per second, minimum value of wind speed measurements for that site and season. 1.33 Column "Wind_Spd_max", meters per second, maximum value of wind speed measurements for that site and season. 1.34 Column "Wind_Dir_mean", degrees, average wind direction for that site and season. 1.35 Column "Quarterly_Precip", millimeters, cumulative total precipitation for that site and season. 2. 2010jd014064-fs01.eps Diel bin plots showing mean ± standard deviation of NOx concentrations at the C-AL, C-SC, and C-MA sites. 3. 2010jd014064-fs02.eps Diel bin plots showing mean ± standard deviation of SO2 concentrations at the C-AL, C-SC, and C-MA sites. 4. 2010jd014064-fs03.eps Diel bin plots showing mean ± standard deviation of O3 concentrations at the C-AL, C-SC, and C-MA sites. 5. 2010jd014064-fs04.eps Diel bin plots showing mean ± standard deviation of CO concentrations at the C-SC site.
