Introduction This data set contains information on the lability of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in Alaskan arctic rivers as determined by incubation experiments. It gives the numerical values for data presented in Figure 1 as well as results for 1 month incubations. 1. 2007gl032837-ts01.txt, 2007gl032837-ts01.pdf DOC concentrations in Alaskan arctic river waters after one month and three month incubations in the dark at 20 degrees C with and without nutrients added. All samples were refrigerated after collection and shipped on ice to Yale University for incubation. Zeros were frozen upon arrival at Yale. Experiments were run in triplicate, and values are reported as mean (micromoles per liter) ± 1 SE. Asterisks mark averages calculated from two values. 1.1 Column "River", name of river sampled. 1.2 Column "Date", date water sample collected. 1.3 Column "Time_Zero", mean concentration (micromoles per liter) plus or minus 1 Standard Error for time zero replicate samples. 1.4 Column "1month", mean concentration (micromoles per liter) plus or minus 1 Standard Error for 1 month unamended incubations. 1.5 Column "3month", mean concentration (micromoles per liter) plus or minus 1 Standard Error for 1 month unamended incubations. 1.6 Column "1month_NP", mean concentration (micromoles per liter) plus or minus 1 Standard Error for 1 month N and P amended incubations. 1.7 Column "3month_NP", mean concentration (micromoles per liter) plus or minus 1 Standard Error for 3 month N and P amended incubations.
