Goldstein Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory and Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Columbia University, Palisades, New York, USA Introduction This paper contains new Nd isotope data for 10 U-series dated deep-sea corals from the New England Seamounts in the northwest Atlantic. Uranium-series data are reported in 2006pa001294-ts01.txt, Nd isotope data are reported in 2006pa001294-ts02.text,and literature data to calculate a hypothetical epsilon Nd of NADW north of 50°N by water mass mixing only are reported in 2006pa001294-ts03.txt. All U-series data have been collected at Caltech in 2004/2005 and all Nd data have been collected at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory in 2005. 1. 2006pa001294-ts01.txt Table S1 presents the underlying data to calculate the U-series ages of the corals presented in Figures 2 and 3. Sample IDs, location, water depth, U and Th concentrations, calculated delta 234U ratios, 230Th/238U activity ratios, and ages are reported. 1.1. column "lab ID", Caltech lab identification number for each sample 1.2. column "database ID", sample identification number 1.3. column "seamount", name of the seamount of sample recovery 1.4. column "water depth", meter, water depth of sample recovery 1.5. column "238U", ppm, concentration of 238U; error reported is the 2 sigma standard error 1.6. column "230Th", ppt, concentration of 230Th; error reported is the 2 sigma standard error 1.7. column "232Th", ppb, concentration of 232Th; error reported is the 2 sigma standard error 1.8. column "delta234U, raw",o/oo, deviation of the measured 234U/238U ratio from the secular equilibrium value in parts per 1000; error reported is the 2 sigma standard error 1.9. column "230Th/238Uact", activity ratio of 230Th/238U; error reported is the 2 sigma standard error 2.0. column "Age raw", years, calculated from measured 230Th/238U and 234U/238U activity ratios; error reported is the 2 sigma standard error 2.1. column "Age corr", years, age corrected for initial 230Th using the measured 232Th and an initial 232Th/230Th atom ratio of 12,000 ± 12,000; error reported is the 2 sigma standard error 2.2. column "initial delta 234U, corr, o/oo, deviation of the measured 234U/238U ratio from the secular equilibrium value in parts per 1000 calculated using corrected age; error reported is the 2 sigma standard error. 2. 2006pa001294-ts02.txt Table S2 presents the underlying Nd isotope data for the corals presented in Figures 2 and 3.
